Many people believe that sustainable fashion is overpriced and really expensive...and although being "expensive" is objective... we have to take a step back and realise this: making clothes requires time, energy, creativity, and skills. Natural and eco-friendly materials which are ethically manufactured have a higher price tag than synthetic materials unethically made from petroleum and other fossil fuels.
Also, let's not forget, the TIME it takes to create a high-quality garment that lasts years and years. Paying someone a fair living wage for their time & skills should be the norm! Ethical and safe working conditions are the bare minimum an employer should provide for every employee, don't you agree?!
Yet, fast fashion brands are still exploiting garment workers, paying them literally fractions of a proper wage, and don't give a sh*t if they work in unsafe & unethical working conditions. Putting profit above everything and everyone, only to make their bloody CEOs richer than they already are!
Sustainable & ethical fashion is NOT expensive (it might be out of your budget) BUT this is the REAL price of a garment! No exploitation, no pollution, no stealing...... It's about shifting our mentality, not about affordability.
